Young Nurse and Another Woman Hit and Killed on Shoulder

Blount Law Firm PLLC April 4, 2019

A 23-year-old nurse had recently landed a new job. While she was from Pennsylvania originally, she was in Tennessee.

She was going to her job around 2:00 a.m., something that is common for medical professionals, when she had car trouble. She stopped her vehicle and got out. Another woman stopped to see if she could help in any way, and she also got out of her car. She was 38 years old.

That’s when a third vehicle came through and struck both women.

The good Samaritan passed away from her injuries at the crash site. The nurse lived, and emergency crews rushed her to University of Tennessee Medical Center, which is located over in Knoxville. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save her, and she too passed away.

There were two people in the car that hit them. One was a 31-year-old man, who was driving. The other was a 25-year-old, who was in the passenger seat. Neither one suffered any injuries in the wreck.

The nurse’s father spoke with the media after the crash, as a way of remembering his daughter. He said that she had two main passions in life. The first was to help people, which is why she was a nurse. The second was to explore and travel the world. Though her life was cut short, she spent it doing both things.

Have you lost a loved one in a car accident? It only takes a split-second for the unexpected to happen, but the ramifications can stretch on for the rest of your life. Make sure you know what rights you have.
